Durante gli MTV VMA è stato reso omaggio a George Michael, a dieci anni dalla scomparsa dell’artista.
Sono stati numerosi i cantanti che hanno celebrato George. A iniziare è stato Sombr, che ha eseguito “Faith” e “Father Figure”.

E’ stata poi la volta di RAYE, che si è esibita in “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)”. Si tratta della canzone che George Michael aveva cantato con Aretha Franklin. Sul megaschermo alle spalle di RAYE si vedeva George eseguire il brano.
