Anche Gwyneth Paltrow sbaglia. E stavolta lo ha ammesso!

Gwyneth Paltrow, benvenuta nel mondo delle persone che sbagliano. E che non temono di mostrarsi imperfette, o che ammettono di aver fatto errori in passato.

Eh sì, è successo: la diva sempre impeccabile, luminosa, elegantissima, ha confessato di aver sbagliato qualche volta. Per esempio? Scegliendo film poco riusciti. Ma quale sarebbe questa pellicola di cui ora Gwyneth non è entusiasta? Scordatevi naturalmente i suoi classici: "Shakespeare In Love" (che le fruttò il Premio Oscar), "Sliding Doors" o "Se7en".

Il film in questione è "Amore a prima svista" ("Shallow Hal" diretto dai fratelli Farrelly), in cui recitava accanto a Jack Black. Nella pellicola, Gwyneth interpretava Rosemary, una ragazza non proprio filiforme, che a causa del suo peso non trovava l'amore. Il personaggio di Jack Black, Hal, era invece un ragazzo superficiale, attratto solo dalle apparenze. Sottoposto a sua insaputa a una seduta ipnotica, per fargli cambiare atteggiamento, Hal finalmente riusciva a vedere e apprezzare la bellezza interiore delle persone, innamorandosi di Rosemary.

Shallow Hal is a 2001 American romantic comedy film starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Jack Black about a shallow man who, after hypnosis, begins to see people's inner beauty reflected in their outward appearance. The motion picture was directed by the Farrelly brothers and filmed in and around Charlotte as well as Sterling and Princeton, Massachusetts at Wachusett Mountain. The Farrelly Brothers admitted that this was a little bit different from some of their previous comedies, but as with all their movies they like for the audience to feel a connection with each of the characters. Shallow Hal was a more emotional movie and the producers spent a lot of time trying to ensure it would not be portrayed as a mere "fat joke" type of movie, but one that has a strong message associated with it. Gwyneth Paltrow played both roles, slim and fat Rosemary (except for a couple of close-up shots of fat Rosemary below the neck, which were played by her body double Ivy Snitzer,) and had to wear a specially designed 25-pound fatsuit and encapsulating prosthetic make-up. Gwyneth ha confessato di non amare questo film (lo ha definito «un disastro») proprio durante il promo della sua nuova serie tv "The Goop Lab”, chiacchierando con il suo assistente Kevin Keating.

"Amore a prima svista" fu effettivamente accusato di colpevolizzare le donne formose. Ma a sua volta l'ammissione di Gwyneth ha adesso suscitato una serie di critiche sul web. Parecchi fan del film infatti hanno protestato per le parole dell'attrice, affermando in realtà che, tramite la sua satira, la pellicola voleva proprio affermare che ogni persona è bella, indipendentemente dal suo aspetto fisico.
