Ed Sheeran eseguirà per intero il suo nuovo album “Autumn Variations” alla Royal Albert Hall di Londra. Ad accompagnare l’artista ci sarà anche una sezione d’archi.
Si tratterà di 2 concerti, in programma il 18 e il 19 novembre.
“Autumn Variations” è in uscita il 29 settembre.
Ed Sheeran ha parlato così del nuovo album: “Lo scorso autunno ho scoperto che io e i miei amici stavamo attraversando così tanti cambiamenti nella vita. Dopo il caldo dell’estate tutto quel che era calmo, statico, era sul punto di crollare, precipitare o implodere. Quando ho attraversato un momento difficile all’inizio dello scorso anno, scrivere canzoni mi ha aiutato a capire i miei sentimenti e ad accettare quello che stava succedendo, e quando ho saputo delle diverse situazioni dei miei amici, ho scritto canzoni, alcune dal loro punto di vista, alcune dai miei, per catturare il modo in cui io e loro vedevamo il mondo in quel momento. Ci sono stati momenti felici di innamoramento e nuove amicizie e momenti tristi di dolore, depressione, solitudine e confusione. Mio padre e mio fratello mi hanno parlato di un compositore chiamato Elgar, che ha composto ‘Enigma Variations’, dove ciascuna delle 14 composizioni riguardava un suo amico. Questo è ciò che mi ha ispirato a realizzare questo album. Quando ho registrato ‘Subtract’ con Aaron Dessner, abbiamo subito fatto clic. Abbiamo scritto e registrato senza sosta e questo album è nato da quella collaborazione. Sento che ha catturato la sensazione dell’autunno in modo così meraviglioso nei suoi suoni e spero che tutti lo amino tanto quanto me”.

Sheeran said: “Last autumn, I found that my friends and I were going through so many life changes. After the heat of the summer, everything either calmed, settled, fell apart, came to a head or imploded.
“When I went through a difficult time at the start of last year, writing songs helped me understand my feelings and come to terms with what was going on, and when I learned about my friend’s different situations, I wrote songs, some from their perspectives, some from mine, to capture how they and I viewed the world at that time. There were highs of falling in love and new friendships among lows of heartbreak, depression, loneliness and confusion.”
He added: “My dad and brother told me about a composer called Elgar, who composed ‘Enigma Variations’, where each of the 14 compositions were about a different one of his friends. This is what inspired me to make this album. When I recorded ‘Subtract’ with Aaron Dessner, we clicked immediately. We wrote and recorded non-stop and this album was born out of that partnership. I feel he has captured the feeling of autumn so wonderfully in his sonics and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”
